Course Overview This leader-led course provides a solid understanding of the installation, configuration, and management of the Passport 8000 Series routing switch. Using lectures and hands-on labs, you will create a typical enterprise network implementing Layer 1 connectivity, Layer 2 VLANs and SMLT, ATM and POS connectivity, and basic Layer 3 routing including VRRP. You will gain the experience of performing the configuration tasks using the Command Line Interface and Java Device Manager. You will learn how to upgrade the Passport image using TFTP and manage the switch configuration files. The course also teaches you how to integrate the Passport 8600 switch into your network, how to avoid some common problems and how to monitor traffic through the Passport 8600. Learn how the Passport 8600 series is a robust, secure and intelligent platform with performance, intelligence and reliability. Audience It is ideal for the technical individual who needs to understand the features of the switch, how to configure it for a typical enterprise environment and how to maintain its operation within the network.
