Course Overview A leader-led course that provides technical audiences with the knowledge and skill they need to configure routing and Quality of Service features of the switch. You will learn about the Passport 8600 wire speed L2-L7 traffic classification, filtering, forwarding, and routing. A significant emphasis is placed on the Layer 3 protocols to provide a complete understanding of the Passport 8600's implementation of RIP, OSPFand BGP. You will use the CLI and Device Manager to build a routed network and implement QOS on the network using DIFFServ and 802.1p technologies. You will control and manage traffic through the switch by implementing IP Filters. In addition, the course gives an overview of the Layer 4-7 switching technologies available in the Web Switch Module Audience This training is intended for those people that must either configure the advanced features or provide technical support for Passport 8000 Routing Switch Products. Skills Gained - Identify Passport 8600 hardware and software features and review the management options
- Describe the operation of the Routing Table Manager and how Layer 3 switching operations are handled in the Passport 8600
- Configure a RIP network with Static, Alternate and ECMP routes
- Configure a Passport for OSPF as an Area Border Router and create area summary routes
- Configure a Passport as an OSPF Autonomous System Boundary Router
- Configure a QOS enabled network with DIFFServ and 802.1p on the Passport 8600
- Describe IP Filtering on the Passport 8600 and how it controls traffic within the network
- Identify the advance Passport 8600 features of BGP and WSM and state their purpose in the network
- Configure IPX Routing on the Passport 8600
